The Essence Of An Agora Empty The Essence Of An Agora

Post by ugxwolf Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:39 am

The story forum died, so I'm going to kill you with the awesomeness that is this story. I've started with the synopsis for anyone who is just joining. Beware! It is long.

Book I
Part I
Prologue

When the story began, we opened up on the Earth in year 2139. The Earth was in seven pieces: Shattered, Broken, Beaten, Dead, Mangled, and Lost. The seventh was named Saved Earth because it thrived. The story began at the midnight ball.

On this special night, a young couple were talking with each other where it was revealed that the boy was Gitrmstr and the girl was Aerion.

In the height of the dance, the authorities stormed the party in a bust. Gitrmstr couldn't risk being caught again and left as Aerion stayed behind to slow them down.

When Gitrmstr looked for her the next day, he couldn't find her anywhere. In one year he hadn't heard a thing, so he left Saved Earth behind to accomplish the task he had always imagined. Destination unknown...

Chapter 1

In the first chapter, it had been two years since the prologue. Gitrmstr went to see a fortune teller named Rcade and was given a crucial hint at where he would find what he was seeking. He was also told that he would not be able to get it if he went it alone. He was advised to gather a team. As he left, Rcade mysteriously burnt down his hut and left.

Gitrmstr went looking for a town to crash in, but due to a lack of money, he ended up in the gutter for the night. He woke up form a lot of shouting and dicovered a fight between two people. They looked skilled, so he decided to enlist them.

Gitrmstr strode to the center of the fighting area and knocked both fighters out before either one could do anything about it and waited for them to wake up.

When the smaller one woke up, he introduced himself as DarkFlashlight and asked why he was there. He agreed to help and said that he was an elemental martial artist, which meant that he could put the power of the elements into his simple martial arts.

The large one woke up and introduced himself as LazyYouth and that he was in no way a fan of DarkFlashlight. Then, when he was asked to join, he agreed and stated that he was a marksman. He carried lethal and non-lethal bullets and was ready for just about any fight.

When Gitrmstr was satisfied he had heard enough, the three of them stayed one night in the town and left immediately. They were looking for two more members.

Chapter 2

In the second chapter, Gitrmstr, DarkFlashlight, and LazyYouth left Crystal City to look for more team members, but they got attacked by a teenage girl who introduced herself as Cellophanegirl. She agreed to join them, but only went so far before stopping because of the lock on her leg.

The four of them went back to Cellophane's home town to see the leader and get the lock removed. King Nappy told them instead that she could not leave the village because women were sorely need. He set them off and the four sat in the jungle considering a way around it.

In that meeting, they considered stealing her, running away, and even killing King Nappy, but Gitrmstr decided otherwise and had a confrence with King Nappy, coming out to announce that Cellophane could go with them if they all passed a test given by the village elite.

Gitrmstr was tested on his ability as a fighter. LazyYouth and DarkFlashlight were sent up the mountain for three days for survival and teamwork. Gitrmstr watched them at night, proving his leadership skills. All tests were passed easily.

That night, Cellophane wondered into an alley and met a boy named Uberman. The two knew each other for a long time and he confirmed that he would do something.

The next morning Cellophane was monitored for behavior and tested to see if she could handle herself in a fight. She did well and King Nappy gave the okay. He let Cellophane leave the village on the condition that she be returned after her "training," and before they left Dead Earth.

At the end of the chapter, the four set off to look for a fifth member with Uberman following behind.

Chapter 3

In the third chapter, Gitrmstr and his four followers walked into Heart Town to find the fifth member. They looked around the town and found a fight. Gitrmstr saw this as a chance to show off and find strong fighters. He convinced LazyYouth to join him and they entered the ring.

As the went down to the ring, BigMac and Steelfire were waiting for them at the bottom. Taking on their challengers, guns to guns, twin blades to flamberge, Gitrmstr and LazyYouth put the fight to a quick end. Gitrmstr soaked up the attention before asking where a good fighter for his team was.

BigMac pointed at a rogue in the crowd, who, seeing that he was being drafted, ran for it. Gitrmstr called his team into action and chased the rogue down.

As he chased, the rogue showed a strong knowledge of the town, but still got led into an alley where he had no choice but to sit and listen. Instead, he attacked. Pulling an extremely long sword from a hidden sheath, he faced Gitrmstr and showed skill and fighting that was almost unreal.

Gitrmstr countered with his own skill and took the rogue down, but he got away. Gitrmstr began to chase him again, but they didn't get very far because BigMac and Steelfire had blocked his path.

Gitrmstr finally got to speak to the run-away teammate and he agreed to join them, though he never explained why he was running from Gitrmstr in the first place. He introduced himself as Feverdog and joined the team, which was staying the night in Heart Town.

As the team got ready for another trip, Feverdog broke all ties to Heart Town, determined never to come back again. Two days later, they left the town forever and the chapter came to an end.

Chapter 4

In the fourth chapter, everyone wakes up to a typical breakfast in their team, but Gitrmstr, instead of enjoying it, eats fast. He was trying to finish before everyone else so he could make an announcement.

Gitrmstr wanted to tell them that the thing he had come out here for was the Heart of the fallen AgoraDave. As he told them this, they started to question his sanity, but soon realized that this was expected of him. They ended up agreeing with this faulty reasoning anyway and joined his cause to find a cursed artifact.

Now knowing their mission, Gitrmstr gave everyone a chance to turn back, but nobody took it, so with nothing else to do, they set off to find the Heart of AgoraDave.

DarkFlashlight led the way through the darker reaches of the jungle. The whole time something was watching them. They had no clues as to where exactly the Heart was.

They saw another light in the distance, which turned out to be a team comprised of anhaines, VermillionTree, and DemonSlayer. They were conversing, in which they revealed that they were looking for something.

Anhaines met with Gitrmstr and showed a bit of a fangirl side, which quickly left when he mentioned the artifact, but he didn't seem to notice.

The two teams broke away afterwards and went their seperate ways where they never heard from each other throughout the rest of this part.

Chapter 5

In this chapter, Gitrmstr and his team were walking through the jungle. They hadn't seen any big signs of the Heart yet, nor had they seen anyone since the other team. The forest was starting to get lighter as they moved in to the very center where the jungle was dying.

Here, they were stopped by a man who had no intent of letting them get to the center of the jungle. He drew a double-bladed staff to fight and showed them that he wasn't a weakling as he took Gitrmstr head on and didn't seem to be yielding at all.

As the two fought almost evenly, the stranger heading the fight a little more than Gitrmstr, the entire scene came to a halt when a bright light shone through the area. Gitrmstr was the first to snap out of it and locked blades with the opponent to keep him from chasing after his team when they ran off to find the source of the slowly dying light.

It didn't hold for long as the stranger lifted the heavy blade off his staff quickly, but it stopped him from going for an attack. He backed up and left as he realized that there was no point in fighting anymore.

Gitrmstr, perplexed by this sudden retreat ran into the jungle to find his team and was quickly sidetracked by a minor sight in the corner of his eye. He trailed back and found that his eyes were not decieving him. Aerion was standing in the jungle, looking at him.

He got closer, only to be shot at from Officer Judas of Saved Earth. When he got up, he wasn't hurt, but Aerion was. She was in a pool of blood and her breath had stopped. Gitrmstr rushed Judas in rage, and stabbed him with his flamberge, only to be stabbed back by Judas with two daggers.

Gitrmstr felt the rage consume him, but no pain came from the attack and he passed out. His team found him and dragged him back to camp, Heart under Cellophane's arm.

Chapter 6

In chapter six, the team dragged an unconscious Gitrmstr back to Cellophane's home town, but when they got there, the town was in ruins. They weren't happy to see what had happened, but they didn't have much to do about it. The team took a look around, but nobody was alive. Cellophane ran off and the rest of the team headed for the only standing building, Nappy's office.

As they stepped in, King Nappy, completely insane, now, attacked them talking about monsters and other things. LazyYouth drew a gun and handed it over. When the bang went off, DarkFlashlight was holding the gun, hand shaking uncontrollably. If anything, he didn't want to do it, but he had to. Then, they heard a crying noise in the corner. A little girl, GuitarHeroine, was sitting there.

She jumped through the crowd and hugged the only non-imposing thing she could find, Gitrmstr. Suddenly, as though by a miracle, he hugged her back and woke up from his month-long trance. He got up wondering how he got there, but in the end, the only answer was that he was asleep the whole time.

GuitarHeroine started following them around and Cellophane and Uberman were left with a tough choice: follow Gitrmstr to another world, or stay here and rebuild the city. Everyone considered this question; everyone but Gitrmstr, of course, and Feverdog, who had already decided. GuitarHeroine chose to follow Gitrmstr because she couldn't think of doing anything else.

In a room, Darkie was thinking and LazyYouth entered. They agreed to follow Gitrmstr, just as Cellophane decided something and Uberman vowed to follow Cellophane. The stranger, now revealed to be Ugx, tried to talk the younger ones out of it and was accompanied by Carol and Cal. They left shortly after, however, so there was nothing for the two to worry about, yet.

Gitrmstr stocked the shuttle the next morning and was dismayed that Cellophane and Uberman weren't in the camp. He retreated to his room to find them waiting for him on his bed and the shuttle took off in to space to begin a new story. [/Part 1]

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

Sorry, but this is for anyone who hasn't been paying attention.

Part II (in progress!)
Chapter 7

In the seventh chapter, Gitrmstr consulted his best team member, Feverdog for a run down of what they needed to do. The team was at a post standby waiting on the next thing to do, but all in all, there wasn't much to do.

Gitrmstr and Feverdog were talking about it and decided to go after the Bones next on Shattered Earth, so Feverdog changed course and flew for the Planet.

Gitrmstr found, while going to get food for dinner, that GuitarHeroine had stowed away onboard their shuttle and so the six members became seven.

The team stayed on the shuttle for a while acting out their normal lives as though they'd known each other forever, but perhaps things weren't so simple as they seemed.

When the team stepped out of the shuttle, there were five people waiting for them and they paired up to fight. Gitrmstr didn't go anywhere to face down ugx, but DarkFlashlight and Monkeyjim were on the ridge of the Gash that makes Shattered Earth famous.

Cellophane was against CrazyWolf, LazyYouth was against charlie, and Feverdog was with Moons in battle. The fights began and the chapter ended.

Chapter 8

As the chapter opens, Cellophanegirl is fighting with Crazywolf and her wolves. She has a memory of the dog she lost before, but all in all, she realizes she has to fight these ones.

Crazywolf didn't take the beating of her wolves very lightly and put Cellophane up against the wall with her staff. When Cellophane refused to back down, Crazywolf felt little other choice than to use the blad hidden in the side of her staff to make sure Cellophane wasn't going to be any help anymore.

LazyYouth had been cornered by Charlie, a trained mercenary. He didn't have a yielding moment in his eyes. He stared at LazyYouth, ready to kill.

At first, Charlie got LazyYouth backed into a corner and looked like he was going to win, but before long, Charlie had made a big mistake and took a bullet to the throat.

LazyYouth won, and Charlie was left on the floor gasping for air.

On top of the Gash, DarkFlashlight was staring down Monkeyjim and they both tried some kung-fu moves. Darkie's moves were stronger by far, but something was happening to him. He started attacking furiously, almost unaware of the rapid elements traveling through him at the time. He wasn't too unhappy either. It was very intoxicating.

Back inside the Gash, cellophane and Crazywolf weren't having a very good time, but luckily, Uberman had caught up and jumped down on Crazywolf from the cliff above. He attacked her just well enough to knock her back.

The three poised for battle, but Crazywolf was called away by someone and left the fight unfinished.

Elsewhere, Feverdog and Moons were against each other. They were very evenly matched, one healing himself with every hit on the opponent and the other causing extra damage on the opponent with every hit. The battle kept getting worse, but no one seemed ahead, here.

On top of the Gash, Darkie was beating the crap out of Monkeyjim.

Darkie had done so much damage, he was bleeding from holes in his hands caused by hitting the rocks that were sticking out of Monkeyjim's body.

Back in the fray, Moons and Fever were staring each other down, but Moons closed his eyes for a second and then opened them saying that he was being called out of action.

At the camp, Gitrmstr and Ugx were staring each other down, but nobody was doing any fighting. Ugx explained where they all went and then confirmed that everyone was fighting.

Ugx got a signal from a radio and the fight stopped for a second.

Up on the ridge, Darkie was still pummeling what was left of Monkeyjim as Feverdog came over the ridge and finally stopped him from continuing. As he did so, Darkie calmed down and realized what he had done and Feverdog picked up the radio to contact Ugx.

Ugx got the signal and took the hint to call back his teammates and leave. They did, but not lightly. He threatened Gitrmstr on the way out and the chapter ended.

Chapter 9

At the openning of this chapter, the characters are busy recovering from battle, but up on the ridge, Feverdog is looking at a very bloody, very blood-thirsty, DarkFlashlight. As Darkie charged at Feverdog, he realized the clumsy fighting style and used it against Darkie to knock him out.

When they got back to the shuttle, Feverdog took care of Darkie's injuries and the others proceeded to walk into the Gash in search of the Bones of AgoraDave.

In the shuttle, Feverdog started healing Darkie and noticed the progression of the world. In the many pieces it was, the entire place would soon be lonely and desolate. He also saw what the power had done to Darkie's clothes, all ripped and tattered.

In the Gash, Gitrmstr led his team deeper to find that the Bones were split into four pieces. They returned to the shuttle and the team decided to split up, Gitrmstr and Cellophane going one way, GuitarHeroine, LazyYouth, and Uberman going another way, and Feverdog and Darkie taking the third path.

Gitrmstr and Cellophane journeyed North where they found a cave that only Cellophane could fit into because Gitrmstr was too tall and too big.

Feverdog and DarkFlashlight had an unpleasant walk to the SouthWest that was changed when DarkFlashlight made a joke that actually got Feverdog to laugh.

Walking SouthEast, Uberman was admiring the assortment of guns on LazyYouth, but it didn't last long as GuitarHeroine had tripped over the Bone Shard they were looking for and they headed back to the shuttle.

Back at Darkie and Fever, they saw the enemy team in the distance, which worried Feverdog. They hurried to the end of the Gash to see them. Anhaines had knocked herself out, so they said that the team was allowed to use the first aid kit and so, the chapter ended.

Chapter 10

In the South end of the Gash, Fever and Darkie were looking for the Bone Shard in the shrine, but they found something else and headed back.

The three back at camp were talking about the shards they were after and the recent events. As the conversation reached a close, they saw an unidentified group of people coming toward them from one of the Southern roads of the Gash.

At the Northern end of the Gash, Gitrmstr was helping Cellophane squiggle into the the hole in the cliff. She got to the other end and they heard the tunnel close behind her. There was a light going on and off in the cave, which she looked for and stopped when it went off.

As Gitrmstr scaled the cliff looking for a way in to help Cellophane, he saw a tail slide into the Earth at the top, which looked like a wolf's tail. He squeezed in with a lit lantern and began to fall.

On the way back to the Shuttle, a strange man jumped out and stopped Feverdog and DarkFlashlight. He asked them for the Shard they had found and left when they tried to convince him that they didn't have it.

Back in the cliff, Cellophane was starting to get close to the Shard, but heard a growl and turned around to see the dark figure of a wolf just before the light flickered out. (incomplete)

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

Post by ugxwolf Tue Sep 29, 2009 12:56 am

I know, but the story is next.

Chapter 13A: Uberman's Problem
Shattered Earth:

Uberman was clutching his side again. The team had been talking for a while, but he couldn't understand why. He knew how things worked. They were going to hold it off until the last minute before they decided where to go. He watched as they climbed in and followed along.
His side, as always, didn't hurt, but he had that habit to hold it whenever he was deep in thought. For so long, now, he had felt an odd presence. One that seemed so familiar, but seemed so far out of reach to him. It envoked a feeling of something close to sadness. He felt it, but somewhere in there, there was anger. Inexplicable as it was, he was angry at something he couldn't even remember. He laughed at himself.
He looked around and chose to go to sleep. He hadn't felt right and he was still tired from the night before when he failed to get any sleep. As he climbed in, he could hear the distinct sound of yelling coming from the cabin. They were fighting. He heard LazyYouth yelling at Darkie. He was saying something about lousy flying, and giving him a harder job, but it didn't last long.
Before he sunk to far into the conversation, he felt as though he was falling asleep, but it didn't stop. It changed.
LazyYouth got angrier, almost as if he was playing anymore. The voice became gruff. DarkFlashlight's voice, scarce as it was, became more silent and controlled, as though he wasn't outraged by anything LazyYouth was saying. It wasn't his anymore, either. It belonged to a woman. Much higher pitched and more sorrowful.
Even that wasn't enough to change it completely, however. The main difference wasn't the voices involved or the tones they were speaking in, but the sides they were taking. They were agreeing. Agreeing against somebody else. Feverdog, who had been trying to mediate, was changing, too. His voice lost more control. It became a very masculine voice, but not a man's. It belonged to a boy. He began arguing with the other two voices and he was sounding more insane by the second.
It wasn't long before Uberman felt as though he were in the fight too, but he didn't say anything. He wasn't yelling or anything. He wasn't in bed, either. He was on the ground, bleeding. he felt the cool liquid pool beneath him as he began to wonder what was going on. It wasn't an illusion, because he could feel it, but how did he get here? It must have been a memory, but that didn't change the problem. He couldn't even move, so he listened.
"You fool! We still need him!"
"He is dead to me."
"No... you can't be like this. You aren't yourself."
"I'm as much myself as you are. It doesn't matter anymore, he isn't on our side. He knows my plan."
"What plan? The foolish ideas you had as a child that you're going insane trying to fulfill? That isn't a plan! That's foolishness!"
"Say what you will, the deed has been done."
"Not if she can revive him!"
"I'll try."
Just then, he felt warm, as though the fading life were suddenly returning to him again. He felt happy and saw a figure he recognized, but he couldn't remember it anymore.
"I'm afraid not. You'll jeopardize my mission!"
He saw another figure move toward him fast.
"Oh, no you don't!
Then a third figure collided with that one. It was as if he were the topic, but maybe he was. It was so sad, but he suddenly felt angry, then he saw why. The third figure, which he could now see very clearly was his old partner, whom he had forgotten, was stabbed in the stomach. It fell to the ground as the second figure kept moving. He still didn't recognize that figure, but standing above him, defending his motionless body, was his very first love, who wielded a sword fearlessly.
The enemy attacked, for he could be nothing else. They fought well, neither one yielding, but then Uberman moved and she lost focus. Uberman lost all senses and gaped as the cool blood pooled over his body, which she had healed and protected. He got angry and took her sword, but then it all went fuzzy and he woke up in the bed, drenched in sweat and gasping for air. Whatever it had been, it was not pleasant, and whatever it was, it had to be connected to how he felt.
Everything was silent, so he joked with himself they Darkie had lost control and killed the rest of the crew. He started walking upstairs and looked around as everyone seemed to be doing just fine. Cellophane was putting the Heart and the Bones in a leather bag lined with what he assumed to be lead. Gitrmstr was watching GuitarHeroine, who was entertaining him with cooking tricks like flipping the food out of the pan and back in.
LazyYouth was at the turrets and Feverdog was co-piloting with DarkFlashlight. Everything seemed as it should be, but somewhere in the air something was wrong. Uberman could feel it. Something was terribly wrong.

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

You can be annoying, sometimes.

Chapter 13B: Uberman Awakens
Gitrmstr's Shuttle:

Uberman looked carefully around. He didn't see anything out of place, but something still felt wrong. He couldn't place his finger on it, but one thing was for sure: it was way too quiet. He stepped up to the shuttle's cockpit, and looked between DarkFlashlight and Feverdog. They weren't doing anything.
"What are you two doing?" he started. "You can't really be flying this thing like that," but nobody answered. They sat, facing the front, Feverdog with his usual scowl and DarkFlashlight with his mouth open as though he were going to say something. He thought it was odd, but moved on.
Cellophane was deep in thought at the table, not moving an ince, even. GitrMstr was watching her intently, as though he was determined not to move until she did. Uberman climbed to the upper gun turret and saw LazyYouth staring out into space, literally. He was focusing, which seemed odd. He wasn't the type to focus so hard, especially when there was nothing to shoot at.
As Uberman climbed back down, he saw something that confirmed his dormant fears. He didn't know why, but the sight in the kitchen terrified him to the core. He looked at the stove and saw GuitarHeroine flipping food out of the skillet, but she wasn't moving, no was the food. She was frozen with the pan at full height and the food frozen in mid-air. He had seen this before, but where was it? What lingering threat had they suddenly found?
He turned to the cellar and ran down. As if in answer to his thoughts, the door shut on its own behind him. He looked at the stairway and saw nothing. He heard things clatter against each other. Something was moving in the cellar, but as he looked around everywhere he still saw nothing. He wasn't surprised, though. Suddenly, it was all coming back to him. He started to listen intently, unaware of what was happening to himself as he did so.
He heard a rasping, rattling breath. It seemed so familiar. It was as if an old friend had come back to him, but he didn't feel so happy. He felt something bordering fear and anger, but he continued to listen.
"Been a long time, hasn't it Uberman?" A voice had come from nowhere. It almost made Uberman jump, but he had been expecting it to come. "I haven't seen you in so long. You look just as you did back then, but you aren't covered in blood."
Uberman recognized the voice immediately. He knew exactly who had been messing with him for so long. "It's a shame I can't see your ugly face. I'd love to make it look even worse." He was afraid, but he still knew this person. He could exercise that sarcasm all he wanted. He couldn't believe it had come to this.
"You should see what you look like, right now. You make me laugh. This power of yours has been around for far too long. I should do something about it, but you'll get off easy, my old friend. That power is too dangerous, but I can't touch you just yet. You should be more careful what you do. When I come back, you may not get so lucky."
"How did you even get back? I killed you so long ago."
"A poltergeist can stick around as long as he holds a grudge. You should know that. After all, you used to say that to me all the time. I still hold a grudge against you for how you ended my mission, stopped my dream, and killed me."
"You shouldn't have hurt her." He was feeling very angry, now. He felt like an animal ready to strike. "You knew how I felt and you should have anticipated how I would react."
"My, my, you are fiesty. I didn't have a choice. She was in the way, and you had to die."
"But I didn't."
"No, you didn't. I'm here for that reason. I want to right my wrong. Fix my mistake. Unfortunately, I can't as long as I'm dead, but that won't last too long if this goes as it should."
Then Uberman realized what he meant. "No! You can't mean..."
"Oh, but I do. The very thing your leader has brought you around to collect is the very thing that will return me to the power I once held. Even more. I am, after all, one of those creatures."
"Chris! You've gone too far." Now, he remembered this person's name. AgoraChris had once been human, but after gaining near-Agora level power, he was called an Agora all the time. He was not an Agora by the common rights, but if anyone stood up to him, they weren't likely to win, just the same.
"Oh, don't worry," Chris said, cackling between phrases, "I'll take good care of your loved one when I'm gone. I will indeed."
Uberman had lost his temper and clawed at the figure he saw. In front of him, AgoraChris had just become barely visible, but he looked mangled and beaten. This was what Uberman had done to his opponent? The fear struck him instantly, but he recoiled and watched the figure closely.
Before long, the laughing stopped and Uberman saw the figure fade away. Whatever was going to happen, it didn't give Uberman a very good feeling. He was definitely tired, now.
In contrary to this, however, he walked back up and saw that the conversations were continuing. GuitarHeroine looked at him and smiled. "What's wrong?" she said. "Want some food? I made it special for you and Gitrmstr."
He shook his head violently. They didn't notice anything, but it was probably better to let them go on obliviously. He sat down and the table beside Cellophane and started eating.
The whole time, he kept looking over at Cellophane and wondering, "What did he mean, I'll take care of her?"

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

Post by ugxwolf Fri Oct 02, 2009 3:48 am

Yeah, but right now, I'm just reporting the old stories. i won't be writing again until chapter fifteen.

Chapter 14A: The New Course
Gitrmstr's Shuttle:

"Well," Gitrmstr said in his usual playful tone, "I see you haven't gotten any cheerier, but at least you've stopped acting so weird." He liked to mess with the younger members of his team, but Uberman just called to him like a cherry ripe for the picking. He couldn't resist messing with the boy every chance he got. Unfortunately, now was not the time.
Uberman glanced at Gitrmstr and snarled, which made Gitrmstr look away as though he hadn't said anything in the first place. It was sad to see a grown man acting like this from Feverdog's point of view, but he wasn't expecting it to change any time soon. Instead, he interrupted. "Hey, Gitrmstr! LazyYouth! Come up here so we can chat!
Neither one wasted any time as the three teenagers sat behind, Cellophane thinking, Uberman acting emo, GuitarHeroine being completely oblivious to this fact. Gitrmstr got there first as LazyYouth slowly walked up to them. "Okay," he said, "What do you want?"
Feverdog started, "Well, we need to decide out third target. What's left Gitrmstr? You're the one that knows about the Essence here."
Gitrmstr couldn't help but feel revered with that comment and continued, acting important and speaking like it. "Well," he said, "there are five left. We could get the Mind, but that'll be out for now, because that supposedly does better if you already have the Spirit. The Spirit is out because I'm not wasting the time to look for something you can't see without most of the body. That leaves the Flesh, Muscle, and Blood. Which will it be?"
Feverdog shivered and quickly added in, "We are not going to Mangled Earth yet."
Gitrmstr looked at him wondering what had brought that up, but shruged his should and said, "Fine, the Flesh is out. Now, what?"
LazyYouth looked around, but DarkFlashlight and Feverdog kept piloting the shuttle. "Well," Darkie stated, "this is a crew, let's make a vote. I say Muscle."
"Blood," LazyYouth added in.
"Blood," Feverdog said.
Gitrmstr nodded and agreed. "Let's ask the others for their take, though. Just to be sure."
He moved back with LazyYouth and asked them that question. Cellophane looked at the other two and Uberman looked at her. GuitarHeroine was looking at Gitrmstr wondering what kind of a person he was, but the other two answered almost in unison.
"Muscle," they both said.
Gitrmstr looked at GuitarHeroine, who didn't appear to be thinking very hard. She looked at Gitrmstr and answered, "Hehe, such morbid things to be looking for. I don't know why we should even bother."
Gitrmstr rolled his eyes and looked at the other two. No one said anything, so Gitrmstr looked back at GuitarHeroine. She laughed and said, "If I have to choose... let's make it blood. That sounds a lot easier."
They agreed and Gitrmstr went back up to the front to talk to Feverdog.
"Looks like we've chosen to go looking for Blood. So, I believe that should take us to Lost Earth."
"Why do these places have such morbid names?"
Gitrmstr chuckled. "Well," he said, "if it makes you feel better, this is where some of the old creatures of myth came to life. You know. The old creatures. I can't remember most of them, but I know the creatures here include unicorns and the good old jackalope."
"Yeah, but what about the dangerous ones?" Feverdog replied. "What about the Dragons of old myth, and the monsters and ghosts? The infamous Land Shark? Not all mythical creatures were nice you know."
"Don't remember anything about dragons, but I've heard there were fire lizards. As for the ghosts, I've heard there were some, but I don't believe it. And the Land Shark? What's the Land Shark? Dude, get a hold of yourself. You're cracking up so bad, I think I might crack up with you. Of course there will be danger, but seriously, it won't be that bad, man. We've faced danger before."
With that Gitrmstr closed that conversation as Feverdog steered the shuttle in the direction of Lost Earth. The moon could be clearly seen from most windows in the shuttle, but it looked so great. Almost completely full, and being out here made it seem so much bigger. Half the crew was lost looking at it. They were so happy to be here and everyone could tell.
Uberman walked back down to the bedrooms. He got in some serious rest. He felt like he was going to need it. Especially if what was happening was real and it really was going to become a problem. He laid down on the bed and contemplated seeing the mythical creatures. He like the idea of unicorns and fire lizards, but what on Earth was a Land Shark? He had no idea.
Before long, he stopped thinking. He was asleep.

To Be Continued...

But the question is: Is it any good?

It's sorta like an epic. I could see it selling more as a novel than the other GHC stories.

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

That was the point. Furthermore...

Chapter 14B: Crash 'N Slash
Lost Earth:

Gitrmstr looked over his shoulder to see how the three were doing back there. GuitarHeroine was starting to confuse him. He had never known her to act like this, but she also seemed to change. Her memory couldn't go back far if she was like this, but now, she was acting like a school loner. She wouldn't speak to anyone at all.
He wasn't worrying much about that, though. He was more worried about piloting the shuttle. Lost Earth was named so because landing in itself was almost impossible. He checked the throttle and slowed the engines. He couldn't risk crashing it or else it would be very hard to continue what he was doing.
He looked carefully at the meters. It was so out of character for him to be this cautious, but he didn't want to risk it this time. He flew carefully around the asteroids that barred their path to Lost Earth, but he wasn't so sure. Something about the path just seemed too easy. He let himself look back for a second. Everyone was acting normal, so he looked back.
Nothing odd going on ahead. He kept watching, but in no time, the shuttle started to flatline. He looked around, but nothing was out of place. For some reason, the shuttle wouldn't lift. He looked around frantically at all the sensors, but none of them showed anything odd. He kept looking around and nothing. All switches were in place. Only one green light.
This didn't add up, but he flicked the green switch. It was the emergency thrusters. They came on and saved him at the last second, for which he was thankful. They weren't going to die, but the shuttle wouldn't move. Just what he was afraid of. There was a rough landing and he looked back to see Cellophane on the ground and Uberman beside her.
Feverdog had kept his footing, but DarkFlashlight had landed right on top of LazyYouth, back to back. GuitarHeroine had landed on the floor with her feet sticking up in an awkward position. They all looked at Gitrmstr accusingly.
"What?" he said, "I didn't do it. the shuttle flatlined of its own accord."
Not surprisingly, no one believed him. He just shook his head. If they didn't believe him, that was okay, but there was nothing to be done, now, so no one held it against him. They resituated and looked out upon Lost Earth. There was a howl. It sounded so eerie.
"Haha," said DarkFlashlight, "the famous Lost wolves. I've heard of them, but no one has ever seen them because no one can get here and back alive."
He was smiling, but nobody else was because Cellophane had reverted to her wolf stage. She was completely tranced out and looking around as though she were trying to adjust her ears to hear what was happening outside. Gitrmstr stolled over and hit her on the top of the head with the hilt. "What?!? She wasn't going to wake up any other way!" They understood, but they all gave him a hard time about it.
Just then, there was a knock on the shuttle door. "Ooh, a visitor already? Cool." He strode over to the door, knowing nothing about what was happening. "Who is it?" he said.
"Candygram," came the reply.
"But nobody here knows us."
"Candygram."
"Oh, alright," he said, as he opened the door.
A shark came out of the doorway and chomped down on his head, but he just laughed and said, "Already? I didn't think we'd see this famous Land Shark so soon. If he wants to eat me, I can't really let that happen."
He reached up for his flamberge and performed a spin that made the head explode into five pieces. "Fun, isn't it? We don't have much to worry about."
"Nothing to worry about? That thing almost ate you!"
They geared up to leave.

To Be Continued...

Yay, Landshark!
P.S. This is a joke exclusive to this version of the story. If you ever see a book by the title of "The Essence Of A God," I probably wrote it and this chapter is not part of it, thank you. Wink

I'll try to continue, now.

Chapter 15: Lay In Wait

Gitrmstr moved out to look at what was outside. The place was lush and green. He looked around for something that might hide a river of some kind. He instantly saw it. Smiling, he saw a forest. A river would easily be the Blood of the place.

Um... I can't think of anything, give me til tomorrow and I'll be ready.

The Essence Of An Agora Empty Re: The Essence Of An Agora

GOOD NEWS!!! I've finally started writing again. This new chapter has begun and I'll be posting within a couple of weeks. Consider it a Christmas present from me to you.

EDIT: Furthermore, you're in luck because I've decided to post the opening of this new chapter now! Without further stalling, here I go.

Chapter 15A: The Darkness Inside (sample)

Gitrmstr stepped out onto the plain grassy fields of Lost Earth. He looked around and saw that there was nothing around. The forest was on his left and the sea was in front of him. Nothing lie anywhere else, but the open grassy fields. Somewhere, there was a desert, but they were nowhere near it. It was very peaceful. Almost too peaceful, in fact. If it had been any better, he would have assumed they were on the wrong planet and left looking for Lost Earth.

He knew what he could encounter here, but this wasn't on his mind and was incredibly unlikely because he wanted this to be a very short stay. He felt happy, and so he was certain that AgoraDave's Blood was somewhere nearby. It felt totally different from before.

Gitrmstr stepped even further out, but he started becoming cautious of his movements. It didn't make a difference, however, because Gitrmstr felt no danger in the area. He looked back and saw DarkFlashlight, CellophaneGirl, Uberman, and GuitarHeroine had followed him outside. LazyYouth had been in the cellar for the last three hours, so he wasn't surprised that Feverdog wasn't there. He must have gone to get him.

He was just about to turn around when the look on Uberman's face went from tranquility to fear. Uberman jumped and screamed. Something had scared him out of his wits and Gitrmstr turned around to see what it was, but he looked everywhere and he couldn't find anything...

TBC...

I hope you enjoyed. It'll be a while before I'm confidant enough to keep posting, but this is an idea for you.
